New Southern Dallas business park will start with three buildings

Developer Trammell Crow is starting construction on a huge business park in southern Dallas.

The 100-acre industrial development is on Altamoore Drive south of Interstate 20.

The 54-acre project will include three buildings to start with more than 615,000 square feet of warehouse and distribution space.

CBRE Global Investors is partnering with Crow on the project.

“We are excited to have broken ground on Trammell Crow Co.’s Altamoore development, which is our sixth project along the I-20 corridor in the past 10 years,” Jake Marks, Crow Co. principal said in a statement. “It will be our second industrial project with CBRE Global Investors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area after starting a 2 million-square-foot development in Passport Park at DFW Airport in early 2019.

“With the Altamoore project, we are looking to fill an underserved market in southern Dallas with three smaller cross-dock buildings with substantial additional land to serve users in need of high trailer storage counts or outside storage,” Marks said. “The three-building project will be the first phase — we will have an additional 50 acres of land for future development.”

FCL Builders is the general contractor on the project.

The new warehouses are going up in one of the busiest industrial building markets in North Texas.

Developers have constructed millions of square feet of new warehouses along Interstates 20 and 45 south of Dallas to serve growing e-commerce and consumer products firms.

Crow Co. previously built two large industrial projects near the Altamoore Drieve site. — one at I-20 and J.J. Lemmon Road and another on Beckleymeade Avenue at I-20.
