Amazon’s at it again — this time with a warehouse in Far East Dallas

Amazon is expanding its North Texas distribution footprint again with another big warehouse lease.

The digital retailing giant has leased the 419,626-square-foot Eastpoint Distribution Center at 8901 Forney Road south of U.S. Highway 80 in Far East Dallas.

Owned by Dalfen Industrial, the Eastpoint Distribution Center is next to Union Pacific Railway’s intermodal yard.

The building was occupied by Shippers Warehouse, which vacated the property last summer, according to Dalfen.

“The exceptional characteristics of this property, which include cross-dock loading, prime access to I-30, I-635, the Dallas central business district, and an additional 12-acre parcel of land that will be used for van, truck and car parking, makes this an excellent opportunity for Amazon to meet demands from its customer,” Dalfen’s Kevin Caille said in a statement.

Stream Realty Partner’s Matt Dornak and Ryan Wolcott negotiated the 10-year Amazon lease with CBRE’s Ryan Keiser and Dan Mulford.

Dalfen Industrial is also building a 45-acre business park on East Kearney Street near Interstate 635 in Mesquite that will have another 543,000 square feet of industrial space.

Amazon is already the largest occupier of industrial space in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The Seattle-based online retailer is negotiating an almost 1 million-square-foot warehouse deal near DFW International Airport in the DFW Commerce Center building in Irving.

And Amazon has a smaller distribution center project on the way in Frisco.
